No-Bake Chocolate Coconut Macaroons


These are a family favourite for us and a recipe that has been handed down throughout my extended family. They are a great option for baking with little helpers as they don't require the oven!


2 cup rolled oats
1 cup shredded coconut
1/2 cup butter
2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup white milk
1/4 cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)


  1. Combine oats, coconut & cocoa powder in a bowl
  2. In a pot, bring milk to a boil and stir in butter & sugar
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the bowl of dry ingredients (oats, coconut & cocoa)
  4. Lay parchment paper (wax paper) onto a baking sheet or cooling rack
  5. Scoop desired size spoonfuls of the mixture onto the paper
  6. Leave to sit until cool - usually ready after about 2 hours
